I've read accounts that Berman and/or Braga did not really want to present Andorians as they thought they looked pulp era cliche with their antennae. (And yet they created the cliche "forehead of the week".) It wasn't until "Enterprise" when they thought (and had the capability) to animate those sensory organs did they finally decide to bring them back.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

I had not heard that before. It would explain why they avoided them.
And to think that back in the Original Series, They thought Vulcans were hard to do and they just had ears and eyebrows.

May the Great Bird of the Galaxy shine upon all of you today. It has been a while since I have really done anything Trek related with my artwork and not too long ago I started modifying Rduda's TWOK bridge to see if it could be turned into variant bridges. A few years ago I did one based on the Phase II layout, but lately I started modifiying and kitbashing using some of the parts of Wil Jaspers bridge to make one that was based on the TMP layout. I hope Rduda doesn't mind the mods I made for it. I hope to start a web comic or short using it in the near future

Unless it's one of your modifications, isn't Spock's science station in the wrong place? In the movie it was over to the side.

You know it's strange. While the Andorians were referred to on Next Gen, they were never shown. Would have made a nice change from all the Klingon stories they did. While I like the Klingons, you can get a little too much of them after a while.

Ooh.. I get to do a Trek geek slam on someone! (most of my Trek fan friends have written for the novel series, so I don't get to do that often :) )

Pardon me as I push up my glasses on my nose. "Actually, in the episode The Offspring, one of the bodies Lal, Data's daughter, chooses between is an Andorian female, which we see briefly on the holodeck."

Mainly done with the Bridge, just testing out some more with the lighting and starting up working on other sections of my ship for my story. I was inspired by Madison Bruffy's Nova Trek series to start working on my own based in it's own universe and not totally be hampered by some of the canon that has been accumulated over the past 49 years.

Here are some of the updated pics to the bridge and some of the picture ideas I have done for my story. (Still in the process of developing the story) Thanks again to Madison Bruffy for inspiring me and also releasing the TMP Set models for use.

    Meant as friendly critique:
I'm not expert enough to know exactly how to fix that, but either the lights needs upping or there's another render setting that needs fixing. As they are, it doesn't look like the rendering job was finished.
Her top needs fixing too. Either by adjusting her shape or morph fit adjustment for the top.

    Otherwise looking good :-)

Because they think we're stupid and keep changing our entire product library with stuff we have already bought to fit the new figure.
Once again the PRO bundle comes without the morphs too... *smh*

I'm glad that they are trying to improve the figures with better features and posing. But if you don't have a need for it, you don't have to buy it. I don't know about you guys, but I have so much content I hardly use. Unless I see a lot of versatility or something is made really well, I skip it.

They've been making "improvements" and like any other industry would you know, releasing some along the way, it's called "business". They do not think we are stupid, geez guys. Some of us are a little broke right now mind you but hay, Genesis 3F with a NEW type of uvmap is free, thank you Daz3D.

Now in the event we all live long enough to wait long enough, one day V7 will come down in price or be given away in a magazine or somehow be made very attractive in price for those on budgets. Bones!!!! Lots of new bones apparently. This should help for making the figure more realistic and all that stuff ... although I keep thinking, if people want a very realistic looking figure, grab a camera, we have more people than we know what to do with around here lol ...

    oooohhhhh time for a freebie!!!

    DA Link

In the Voyager Bridge set there is a round light space near a door, that is what this was originally made by me for. Whether or not the entire bridge ever gets all fixed up to play nice in Hexagon only time will tell ;-)

That piece could be used for alot of different lighting effects- all depending on where it's positioned.

Oh definitely! And feel free to resave it out as a prop in one of your folders for whatever arrangements you make with it.

    ............................

D/S4.6 users, good news ... Genesis 3 works therein :-) It did take a couple of attempts before it rendered right but once the program had the files optimized or whatever it does, rendered fine with defaults. Face BONES!!! Lots of them ... awesome.

For the Poser users, okay ... D/S is free, Genesis 3 is free ... I hope everybody has at least "bought it" while it is free.
Now, if one just manually installs D/S and the P.Service thingie ... and of course the default content it comes with ...
Through the Content Library [works the same as the Poser library, find the folder and click on the icon] ...
Find under People > Genesis 3 ... load that ~ then "export as .obj file" COLLECTING MAPS to a folder "anywhere you want it".
Then Open Poser and import it.
Now in my PP12 it loaded looking black but it rendered almost all okay ... sadly I'm not very adept at the materials room there. So yes one will need to tweak some settings because not materials information can be put into an .obj file or .mtl file. Once you have the figure's mats "as desired", save out a mat file for next time.
"Next time", in D/S, Pose the figure and adjust the face muscles etc as desired, put on some hair and clothing making sure everything is parented to Genesis 3 [usually is if G3 was selected before adding the hair and clothing] and once again "export out the .obj" using the Poser settings PLUS changing the maps to COLLECT ALL MAPS.
Then Poser will load all it can, apply the mat for G3 and fix up the rest as desired, technically you could save all this out as a prop file AFAIK, add in your scene and render.

The clothing for Genesis 2 is supported with Auto-fit for Genesis 3 ... so no, one does not have to buy oodles of hair and clothing if one has oodles already for G2. There is a free undershirt for G3 this week IF one is making a purchase OR if one is a PC member. [check the PC flash page for the link to the available freebie for any given week ... one is only for PC members, but one of the 2 is potentially for anybody]/

Why do I suggest all this ... look at the brows!!!!
No morphing, just dial in 2 pose controls!
