  • BetOnline’sPower Slap 8 odds suggest Paige VanZant will have a difficult job this coming Friday.
  • Super Heavyweight champ Da Crazy Hawaiian is a big favorite to defend his title.
  • Betting underdog Anthony “Babyface” Blackburn looks ready to upset the odds.

Power Slap 8 odds are out, suggesting the June 28 event is going to be a real banger. The most exciting duel is the one between former UFC star Paige “12 Gauge” VanZant and Christine “The Edge” Wolmarans, who was left motionless in her first Power Slap match.

Based on the the latest Power Slap odds, the VanZant vs. Wolmarans is going to be a very close contest. The same goes for many other fights scheduled for Friday, including the two championship fights – Koa “Da Crazy Hawaiian” Viernes vs. Danie “Pitbull” van Heerden and Emanuel “No Love” Muniz vs. Anthony “Babyface” Blackburn.

I’m going to delve deeper into the subject of Power Slap 8 odds in the next section.

Paige VanZant vs. Christine Wolmarans is the only Power Slap 8 fight in which each striker is getting minus-money odds. The odds for other fights are very close as well. In fact, the biggest favorite on the entire fight card is Vasilii Kamotskii, who’s priced at -300.

In comparison, the biggest favorite at UFC 303, which is happening a day after Power Slap 8, is Payton Talbott with odds of -1000. If you’d like to learn more about that event, make sure to check out my UFC 303: Pereira vs. Prochazka 2 preview.

Paige VanZant vs. Christine Wolmarans Preview

Paige VanZant is a former mixed martial artist with an 8-5 record, who used to fight in the UFC for nearly six years. During her time in Dana White’s MMA promotion, she won two fights by knockout/technical knockout, while suffering no losses by this method.

Those facts inspired her to try bare-knuckle boxing after leaving the UFC. Unfortunately, she lost both of her BKFC fights – to Rachael Ostovich and Britain Hart. The good news for her is that both of those defeats happened after the final bell.

More recently, we saw her get into the ring with OnlyFans star Elle Brooke. After five rounds of boxing, the bout finished in a draw.

Obviously, Paige VanZant is a tough fighter who doesn’t mind getting slapped. People thought the same for Christine Wolmarans, but then she made her Power Slap debut.

In fact, her fight with Sheena Bathory was the first-ever female Power Slap fight. The contest lasted for less than two rounds, with Bathory putting Wolmarans to sleep.

Wolmarans was left motionless by her rival, which drew heavy criticism on social media, with some users even calling for a ban on Power Slap. However, Wolmarans recovered from the devastating slap and is hopeful to bounce back with a win.

The bad news for her is that VanZant is the one who won the coin toss and will strike first on June 28.

  • Bet on VanZant (-120)

Best Bets for Power Slap 8

  • Paige VanZant to Beat Christine Wolmarans
  • Da Crazy Hawaiian to Beat Danie van Heerden
  • Anthony Blackburn to Beat Emanuel Numiz

I’ve already explained why I think Paige VanZant will beat Christine Wolmarans on June 28. Now, it’s time to share with you my other top Power Slap 8 predictions. One of those is that Da Crazy Hawaiian will beat Danie van Heerden.

Koa “Da Crazy Hawaiian” Viernes is the first and only champion of the Super Heavyweight division of Power Slap. He won the title in October by beating Kalani “Toko” Vakameilalo with just two slaps.

My prediction is that he’s going to defend his title at Power Slap 8. It’s not just because he’s a true legend of the sport, with wins in SlapFIGHT Championship and other organizations. It’s also because, on June 28, he’ll be striking first.

Another striker who will strike first on Friday is Anthony “Babyface” Blackburn. However, unlike Da Crazy Hawaiian, Babyface isn’t favored to win.

With the Power Slap 8 odds of +145, he’s one of the dark horses. The main reason is that he’s taking on the defending welterweight champ Emanuel “No Love” Muniz. However, I think the former pizza chef from Michigan can upset the odds.

Not only is he striking first, but this guy has been brilliant since joining the Dana White-owned promotion. In the previous Power Slap event, for example, we saw him knock Christapher Thomas out in Round 2.

Full Power Slap 8 Card Predictions

  • Koa “Da Crazy Hawaiian” Viernes to Beat Danie “Pitbull” van Heerden
  • Anthony “Babyface” Blackburn to Beat Emanuel “No Love” Muniz
  • Paige “12 Gauge” VanZant to Beat Christine “The Edge” Wolmarans
  • Vasilii “Dumpling” Kamotskii to Beat Kamil “Polar Bear” Marusarz
  • Austin “Turp Daddy Slim” Turpin to Beat Vernon “The Mechanic” Cathey
  • Isaih “Pretty Boy” Quinones to Beat Wesley “All the Smoke” Drain
  • Jackie “The Hybrid” Cataline to Beat Katharina “German Gypsy” Lehner
  • Duane “The Iron Giant” Crespo to Beat Dayne “Da Hawaiian Hitman” Viernes

Power Slap is a relatively new sport, but based on what I’ve seen so far, it all comes down to who strikes first. The evidence is that in the first-ever Power Slap event, first-strikers won in more than 90% of cases.

I predict something similar will happen this coming Friday as well. Oddsmakers share my opinion for almost every fight apart from the one involving “Babyface” Blackburn. The probable reason is that he’s a 170-pound striker who might not be powerful enough to finish his opponent straight away.

I have faith in him, but I do understand that it’s big guys like those fighting in the Super Heavyweight division that finish their fights much faster. This explains why Da Crazy Hawaiian is a huge favorite on the Power Slap 8 card with -245 odds.

  • Paige VanZant (-120) – Place This Bet at BetOnline

My top Power Slap 8 pick is Paige VanZant. Such a huge martial arts star wouldn’t have signed with this organization if she weren’t certain she’s going to win on her debut.

Luckily for her, she’s much tougher than Wolmarans, and her striking power (or in this case, slapping power) should be superior to that of her opponent. Apart from “12 Gauge”, I’ve got a few other interesting Power Slap 8 bets on my mind.

Babyface” is my favorite sleeper bet, while Da Crazy Hawaiian is the safest bet you can make this Friday.

If you’re looking for more combat sports previews, you should definitely check out my Tyson vs. Paul preview. It’s unclear when the bout will take place, but the odds are still available at BetOnline and other sports betting sites.

Early Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul OddsThe early Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul odds suggest that the 57-year-old boxing legend is in trouble. 8 of Paul’s 9 wins came vs. boxers who are at least 35 years of age; Tyson will be 58 this summer.
